Vyoo Closes the Gap Between Online & In-Person Networking.

Background & Client Needs

Makeen sought to improve the way we network with wide applicability. Enterprises, universities and nonprofit organizations seek to improve member engagement, as well as to get deeper insights into their community needs.

The challenge was to bring people together through the app, but also encourage meaningful in-person connections. The app needed to be “sticky” and engaging enough to draw in members, but flexible enough to translate those interactions IRL. The user experience should bridge online and offline relationship-building between members. And, finally, the app needed to provide consumer insights that could be used to better inform member services and marketing campaigns.

How do you create a platform that sparks online interaction, but then move those relationships offline? What mechanisms are needed to foster virtual connections that can grow into meaningful social interactions? What are the ways we can seamlessly link the digital world to the one we live and breathe in?

The Process

Makeen was engaged to support Vyoo in reaching this goal, and after initial briefings and discussions it was agreed that the best way forward was to develop a mobile app solution for both iOS and Android platforms.

Makeen developers took the things that connect people in the real world – hobbies, professional experience, networking objectives – and made those characteristics the vehicle through which members could connect with others. Our platform’s “suggested connections” feature links members with shared interests, and then suggests events, nearby restaurants, discussion boards, and meetups where those conversations could move offline.

The Results

Vyoo is a mobile app for community social networking. Users can join different groups, host events, and find a place to meet in-person based on your location. Clients have a way to grow their network and identify key influencers – all while maintaining control of the content, the data, and the experience.

Unlike groups hosted on social media platforms, Makeen clients own 100% of data and information shared on Vyoo.
